Day 51

Up early as P is picking S and K up from Heathrow, and I remember that flights always land early at this time of year. Due 7.20am, they land 6.50am! Delivered back to Cowley Towers, ready for Burgundian extravaganza at WineSoc tomorrow night.

In the meantime I am fielding all manner of builder issues, the main being that P and Nathan have decided to have 3 heating zones . Madness. To be sorted....

But I can see the works in daylight and find we have a lovely new roof...

Heating zones sorted, as is delivery of new Tumble Dryer, which has to be negotiated round the vat of boiling pitch we have on the driveway.

We find out that our Aussie relatives know Nathan the electricians family in Mornington, nr Melbourne. It is just such an Amazing Coincidence (AC). I firmly believe in AC's happening for a reason, this is a spectacular one. He has had his Mum on the phone already about it! Funny old world!

There's all sorts of stuff going on - I have had enough! Book hair appointment, meet C and S in Rootz for nice chat - no one asking me where I want a light fitting etc! Get hair done, and back for 2pm to receive tumble dryer - duly delivered by my new Bulgarian friends! They have phoned twice today to agree delivery - good service. In the meantime I and J arrive with S and K, all back from travels in Canada and States. They had been down to Gilbeys to ward off jet-lag and we sit and catch up on their adventures and S talks wine -SO interesting! have learnt several new facts to add to my growing oneological studies!

Wayne finishes the day with a layer of what looks like black tar all over the floor of the extension. It smells but will prove to be a good moisture barrier.

We are not sure what the white stuff is - I hope not the end result! We will ask Ian tomorrow.

Dinner with L, E and J - old finance support from LBD, at http://www.ottrestaurant.co.uk/index.html
Been wanting to try it for a while, so will report back.

Brilliant dinner - 3 courses for £9.95! Amazing value and yummy - nice small portions! In the summer it must be amazing with the views over the river. V busy - no wonder! Lets go my friends! Good to catch up with the girls.

  1. If coincidences happen for a reason, then they are not amazing, they are just a consequence of that reason.

  3. You're both being pedantic - it is an AC of GLOBAL dimensions - and another AC - P just met him down in Gillec! Oh hang on - he is an electrician so probs not such an AC...;-)
