Day 52
Usual suspects arrive before daylight!
Roofers roof......Wayne pours more black stuff all over the floor, then covers with insulation and tapes it all together.
A foam skirting board effect is hammered all round the edges (noisy), and he carves off the lintels from the back and utility room doors (even more noisy!)
Dirt and noise is getting to me, so I bake a cake to keep builders sweet! P has been on their backs today about the thickness of the flooring....I think they are being v self controlled over his interfering!
First pic shows floor now covered with insulation material ready for underfloor heating tomorrow. Note the white foam skirting boards!
Not sure why he included this one, just in love with his velux windows I guess!
Ditto!
And finally the finished roof! V neat job, and I found out that the white granules on top of the flat part of the roof are there to reflect the sunlight and hence prevent the pitch melting!
So, a lot of subtle changes today ready for the onslaught tomorrow of the heating going in - and the tumble dryer switch, which will be good as we can then get the garage back in use for car storage!
WineSoc tonight - it will be so interesting. Stephan, Ian's mate from Burgundy bringing a showcase of his wines...OMG!! A lovely way to end the day...
