Day 82

8.20am - headcount - Painters 2 - the twins, Tilers 1 - K, Woodwork person 1 - Big K , Electricians 3.
Good job I brought 24 mince pies yesterday to keep that lot going! Just gave kitchen work tops a thorough  poilish - pointless I know but it looks clean for now.

Well, they all got on famously - the sparkies were a noisy gang, lots of joshing and banter all day. K the tiler finally left at 5.30pm -that's a long old day arriving here at 7am! There was a lovely moment when I found N  (the aussie sparkie) sitting cross legged on P's workbench in the garage fiddling with wires! I have no idea what he was doing - looked like a gnome!

However, we now have daylight tubes everywhere! Its like a tanning booth in there! Decisions on the bathroom window sill, should they use the wall or floor tiles? I said floor, the sparkies thought wall - but its my extension so my decision was final. P had disappeared this afternoon to get his hair cut. Coward. I had to man power off situations etc.

Mince pie consumption 12, we had some non mince pie eating workers here today - strange!

I went to LC Library to see if this was a volunteering role I could take on - looks like it could be - just 1 1/2 hrs week - that's more like it. The guy who interviewed me had a wonderful attitude, that nothing should get in the way of a good lunch or watching a game of rugby! They seem very positive, pragmatic, and full of trust and common sense. Optimistic.

James has arrived back home for the weekend, pending a call to action. Lyneham is dead apart from the medics and they all disappear at the weekend. Nice to have him home.

And so we have the pics....

The Lobby almost done.....waste bin covers another tile that has been re laid!

Wall tiles up and grouted in the shower..looking good B and Q at £10/sqM

Velux windows power points installed...

and N's mistake...whoops! To be rectified I understand!

Not sure why P thought that was kind to photograph that!

Its all shaping up brilliantly - woodwork tomorrow.

PS: Forgot to add Walked 90mins - 9K. Thinking time - and nice sunny day!
