Day 81


We await with much anticipation for a day filled with wood based activities. Oh, and a pinch and a punch for the first of the month!

So, K carries on with tiling the walls in the bathroom. He seems more cheery today - perhaps its because he has Big K here as well as the twins. K puts up 3 doors - looks strange but good. Lots of painting done. We keep well clear due to the mess out there - we don't want to get in their way. There is a lot of builder bantering going on, goodness knows what they talk about all day! Architraving etc tomorrow, may run into Saturday morning. They are obviously keen to make up time lost over the floor tiles. Mince pies go down well!

Our main enemy at the moment is the fine white dust over everything. A combo of sanding down where they have filled and grouting of tiles. Just putting stuff in the washing machine just now, I ended up with builders hands! So I washed the utility room floor to try and minimize transfer to rest of house.

Its coming on brilliantly - beginning to look like real spaces that we can work with.

Bit cross with IKEA though. I ordered all the Billy stuff on line - est. delivery date 6th Dec - great I thought - get it in ready for action when we need it. They call up today to say that it will be 14th Dec instead.  Bit different. Actually not a real problem - I just would rather have the stuff here. Rubbish info on web site - apparently the slippage is due to Christmas. Don't we have that every year around this time? You'd have thought they would have accounted for that! End of today's rant!
